After the turn of that tassel on the college mortarboard, most of us are headed for a job, 401(k)s, organizational structure and an apartment.

Cobby Brzeski is headed for a nightclub tour of the West Coast.

Brzeski, a Naples native, has already begun here, peppering dining spots and bistros around her hometown with emails and samples of her silky vocal-flute combination. She has stepped up her jazz-tinged songwriting in hopes of some commercial contracts. But a life onstage begins with getting onstage.

The Naples High graduate and Berklee College of Music alumna, is determined to write and perform, and anyone who hears her won’t question her decision. Despite winning concerto competitions and Bach festivals, the petite, blonde 24-year-old has a heart full of repertoire from the swing era, the smooth sounds of Billie Holiday, the Andrews Sisters and Helen Forrest.

“A vintage girl in a contemporary world,” says her publicity.
